Preloaded Genuine Timken Roller Thrust Bearings

The Half Hitch incorporates large preloaded roller thrust bearings to promote fast vibration damping while simultaneously providing smooth, responsive tracking.  Preloaded bearings are constantly pulled towards one another to prevent any possible wiggle, creating a tightly unitized structure.  Preloading the bearings requires accurate machining to prevent tight spots as the bearings rotate.

Some mounts use screws as the axes.  This can never be a precise or shake-free arrangement.  The heavy-duty Half Hitch axes are precision-ground stainless steel shafts.
