The Half-Hitch Is a Versatile Multipurpose Workhorse

The Half Hitch has the strength to scale upward in load but is also lightweight and streamlined so that it can conveniently scale downward in load and tripod.  Many mounts claim to be grab 'n go, but few really are.  From nature study to astronomy, you will be amazed by all the applications you will find for the versatile Half Hitch!  Equatorial and GoTo alt-azimuth mounts lack the overall utility of the Half Hitch.

The essence of grab 'n go — an 80 mm APO refractor on the Half Hitch and KB Systems KBP1A tripod:  This entire rig with Sky Commander, eyepiece and diagonal weighs under 20 pounds, and its compact dimensions are easy to handle — making it a versatile, nature-watching dynamo.

With an optional bracket, a PST (Personal Solar Telescope) rides very nicely on the Half Hitch.  This lightweight rig can be kept assembled and easily moved outside for frequent prominence and sunspot checks.

Go to where the dark skies hide and find many interesting things to observe.

Efficient DSO Rig:  Half Hitch with 6-inch SCT — very solid and very mobile.  This rig makes a nice deep-sky complement to an APO refractor, giving more observing options for specific tasks.  Want more light?  The Half Hitch can also handle an 8-inch SCT.
