Sturdy, Secure, Machined Dovetail System
|
The Half Hitch incorporates unique, leveraged rails to tightly clamp and reinforce a heavy-duty dovetail plate. No extrusions or castings are used — but precisely machined components that slide smoothly into place. Rounded edges on both the dovetail plate and clamp rails make engagement easy. Some dovetail systems use screws to bear directly against a narrow dovetail bar. However, the Half Hitch grips it's wide, thick dovetail plate over the full length of its generous saddle with vise-like rails. Large-radius rounded corners on the clamp rails and the dovetail plate, and glass-smooth surfaces ease the loading process. The dovetail plate provides flexible attachment schemes including counter-bored 1/4-inch holes at each end and a central "counter-bored" slot. A deliberately shallow counter-bore around one of the end holes allows the head of a socket screw to serve as a solid, elegant safety stop. (Several stainless steel socket screws are included with the mount.) The Half Hitch dovetail plate includes an engraved scale on the backside to assist in adjusting or presetting balance. |

The Half Hitch Includes Necessities Some Mounts Don't The rigid, all-machined and hard-anodized dovetail plate is included with the Half Hitch — as is the saddle assembly. The basic Half Hitch unit is not just a "head" but a ready-to-use mount. Would you buy a car without a steering wheel? |
