Balance Trimmer Extension Arm

The Balance Trimmer Extension Arm attaches to the standard Balance Trimmer bracket and gives the Balance Trimmer System the ability to compensate for almost any change of eyepiece/bino-viewer — on-the-fly, without changing the saddle position from your normal, baseline configuration — without tools!  Using the BTEA, you can quickly and easily deviate substantially from the normal configuration of your scope and still maintain the effortless "zero-gravity" feel which Super Half Hitch users come to enjoy.  Given a little practice, one can learn the proper positioning of the extension arm and weight for each unusual scope configuration and set them from memory when making configuration changes.

The extension arm may be quickly removed when not needed for the normal scope configuration.  Moreover, the extension arm my be flipped over so that the trim weight can be tucked beneath or above the scope.  (Note that when adjusting the extension arm, one must check the desired range of motion for possible interference between the trim weight and the mount structure.)

The great flexibility in balance trim comes from the fact the the extension arm can be swiveled up or down, and it will also slide fore and aft in the Balance Trimmer bracket's slanted slot.  In addition, the long slot in the extension arm allows the trim weight to be moved through a considerable range of balance settings.  Small weight.  Big effect.  As always with the Super Half Hitch, much of the off-axis load is compensated by the weight of the telescope itself — avoiding the need for a heavy counterweight.
